The 10th Anniversary of the Roost Farm Centre
Hamish Crawford is the proud Scottish farmer that owns the land the Roost resides upon. Bought in 1989, the land was raw and un-farmed for many years. Hamish stood upon the undisturbed
soil and had a vision; a place for the people of Vancouver Island (and beyond) to enjoy the scenic view of this charming piece of the peninsula whist sipping fresh quality coffee and
partaking of fresh baked goods made from the soil upon which he stood. Thus the Roost concept was birthed. A building was constructed and the Roost was officially open May of 2002.
Since swinging wide our doors to the North Saanich community we have grown and expanded in our passion for the farm experience. We started growing wheat that we mill right on site and bake
into our breads fresh daily, and have gone further with blueberries, sheep, a hand built wood fired oven, and grapes planted in 2008 that produce the most amazing red and white wine
you'll taste on the island. Our wood fired oven is open with an all new menu to showcase what one of these bad boys can really do. To accompany this, we are serving local wines by the
glass and wine-based cocktails that will challenge the way you think about wine.
We thank all of you who have been our loyal customers, friends and family over the last 10 years. Cheers to you and to the many more years to come!
